thanks Ellen, I think so too. we felt really tired today, speaking for myself, I think Katrina finally caught up with me, but now we're back home after getting groceries and trying not to get into too much traffic. have a good weekend, sp
Sometimes ten years can be just a blink. I'm sure there have been news reporters all over the city doing their looks back. I know our local news channel did a story.
Dear Julian, it was a very intense week for everyone here. the disaster affected every life and every surviving life needed to express! there were so many ceremonies, events, conferences, tv coverage, both appropriate and over-the-top. On Sat, my whole body felt tired and overwhelmed by all of the remembering. yes, 10 years goes by in a blink, but why is the afternoon so slow? love, susanna
ps to Julian, I meant to mention that my contribution to the 10 year commemoration was that I donated my archival Katrina papers to the Louisiana Research Collection, and therefore had the opportunity to enter myself in OCLC! that was enough for me, once in a lifetime kind of thing. See our LaRC blog on the right for the mention. love, sp
It's still mind-boggling to think of everything New Orleans went through 10 years ago. It's a beautiful, unique city.
