Hi Molly, yes, and it was so beautiful today. the water was dark blue-green in the clear day. but the sunshine makes the temp really hot lately, so the photo shoot had to be very fast! thanks, sp
At first look I thought it was the ocean, then thought, no you are a bit away from open water and of course it would be the gulf not the ocean...duh.
How close are you to Lake P? Is it a popular place people go on weekends for boating etc?
I would not have thought that one could stand on one side and not see the other side. When we lived those summers in the late sixties in Pass Christian MS we never went any further west. Ah, the summer of 1969....Hurricane Camille, yup we were there in PC (although since Dad was a Seabee they moved us all onto the base (Gulfport) since our rented house in PC was less than 1/2 mile from the Gulf. It was a smart thing, as most of the houses at the end of our street were completely gone.)
We are 2 or 3 miles from the lake. When the weather is nicer, people like to picnic and spend time along the lakefront parks, and there are sailboats and other types of boating. It was quiet yesterday. by magnifying the photo twice, you can see one sailboat along the horizon. it's coming up to the height of hurricane season so we are all just hoping to get through it. thanks, sp
Peaceful.
ReplyDeleteLake Pontchartrain?

ReplyDeleteSussah, your blog posts are snippets of minimalist poetry captured both in word and photograph. Such a delight!
