  1. does solitude weigh there? i feel it looking at the sheets of metal (I don´t know the word in English, here it would be "chapas"), and the clouds and the absence of people. but it´s tender too somehow reminds me some old rem songs. :)

  2. Dear aleph, I think the most appropriate word is "tin", as in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof"... looking on google translate, maybe the closest word would be "estano". (don't know how to create a tilde on comments). But solitude, only for that couple of blocks. In New Orleans there have always been checkerboards of prosperity vs. neglect, and the Katrina flood exaggerated that. Pretty close-by is a busy street, restaurants, a university, a fancy neighborhood, and of course churches. As far as a sound-track for this block, maybe "Summer in the City" haha, I'm older than you. See also an earlier post closeby to this area. thanks, sp

  3. thks Sussah! now I can hear the busy murmur behind the tins, and have an idea of life, people, context, in N.O. now I´ll look for that song, and see the photos again. xxoo.
