last light

  1. I like these—maybe more than I should. I notice, in the first shot, my eyes swing left and right along the lines of the stretched cables, but always light and rest on the little square of bright, reflected sunlight in the center. In the second photo, I pity the little plane, because that phosphorescent cloud sliding along the cable just tickles me with his rambunctiousness and I forget all about that modern marvel carrying a load of souls out of town.

  2. When I first saw this title, I thought it might have been inspired by Thomas Kinkade's passing - since he was the Painter of Light. I'm going to interpret it that way, even though it wasn't the intention! The sun setting on another day...

  3. Hi Glenn, I'm happy that you like these-- the sun's reflection on downtown buildings at that angle amazes me, I like the warm color. I've seen it from other parts of town too, at that time of day. thanks very much, sp

  4. Dear Amber, that wasn't my intention, but it's sad to hear of someone dying too soon. yes, this was just another day, one of the last Monday evenings after daylight-saving time started, on my way home. thanks for commenting & love, sp

  5. Here is an earlier attempt to photograph the last of a day's sunshine, called evening sun.
