  1. In the words of the young people, "Mardi GRAW!"

This shot is so rich in color and rhythms. Thank you.

  2. Thanks so much Glenn! Did you see, the monstrous truck even has your name on it. The purple really is quite a sight. I'm sure that by the time they're finished, it will blend in to a new normal, although too large in scale, we'll get used to it. But right now everybody's talking about the fact that it's purple. Mardi Gras time for sure! sp

  4. Dear sussah, I'm afraid I didn't notice my name on the side of that truck at first. Looking at it again, though, I can see it also says "Oversize Load." Well, honey, that's me all over ;-)

  5. Dear K., Having you think I have made a winner never ever gets old. thanks, I appreciate that! But this particular one was brought to you by the color purple.. sp

Hi Glenn, you really made me "lol" this morning with your comment about the oversize load-- thanks, I'm fighting with a cold, and laughing is good for my immune system. Today, the yellow equipment/vehicle has left the building... can you imagine trying to maneuver that thing in these streets? I wonder how many parked cars it took out in the process. sp

  6. I don't know Glenn, but as I was reading the comment posts, I figured his nick name must be "oversized load" because I didn't see the "Glenn" until further inspection. haha.

  7. Dear Julian, Purple, gold, and green together are the colors of the carnival season (I know, it sort of clashes)... especially, as sugar sprinkles on top of king cakes. I didn't know the Huskies had purple and gold, that's like LSU, which also ties in with the Louisiana mardi gras theme. I'm glad you got some well-deserved attention for your work as art docent, it must have been for the Matisse lesson! love, sp

  9. Hi Sally, I know, the comments add a whole other dimension. For a couple of years I just put pictures up, then Glenn suggested that I enable comments last spring I think. And I love to hear from everybody. Thanks for your kind words today. love, sp
