  1. I like this. My first glance gave me the impression I was looking at a beautiful piece of bed linen on a clothesline in a breeze. (My eyes always go from left to right.) It wasn't until I followed the lines to the stamen that I realized it was a flower. I like those little visual games where you can never lose. Thank you for posting this ;-)

  2. Had same reaction as Glenn. Neat photo. What kind of flower?

Happy Fall. Leaves beginning to show their color change, geese flying south and had first-of-the-season fire in the woodstove. That snow is a-comin'.

  4. Hi Molly, thanks very much, that's a moonflower. They are the evening equivalent of the morning glory, with similar but larger leaves and larger white flowers that smell like a sweet perfume. For some reason, the blossoms were few and far between this year. Your description of the changing season sounds very pleasant. For us, it's just less hot, with a promise of gorgeous perfect weather very soon. sp

  5. had not heard of moonflower. is the texture like linen? or too delicate to touch? how close were you when you took the photo? nice composition.

this is perfect chain saw and log splitting weather (something we do a lot of).

hard to believe Amber could be turning 35, is Emily younger than Amber? I was trying to think of the spread of ages of your nieces and nephews.

  6. Hi Molly, I was right up in this flower's face for the shot. to answer your question about my nieces, Emily is younger than Amber, but it's important to put age numbers aside. we are all young if we feel young. sp
