  2. I love pictures of pictures. So intimate and revealing of the little things that are important to a person.

  4. Oh, this is such a sweet combination of photos for me to see, because the Peace Rose print is one of my most familiar images, but I had never seen the seven year old Grandma Bobby. What a beautiful pairing. Love, Emily

  5. Dear Emily, thanks & I'm so glad you saw it. I asked Mother if I could have this photograph, a few years prior to the loss of their home in Hurricane Andrew, so I guess you could say I rescued it twice from hurricanes. Didn't you save the doll Humholt? Love, sussah

  6. Dear Sussah,

Yes, Humholt lives! And his little head still smells as sweet as ever--almost like those beautiful hibiscus out front of the ole' Homestead homestead. I haven't thought of him in awhile, though, thanks for the memory. Love, Emily

  7. Good morning/evening Rick! thanks for saying so. And to Emily, I'm glad to know that H. is having a second life of hibernation in your mama's closet. It's funny what we remember and what we keep. love, sussah
