  1. I love the juxtaposition of these two images and the way they complement each other. (Have you ever pondered the dual nature of roofs? The way they aspire to heaven yet still serve the mundane purpose of providing rainwater a place to go instead of letting it just sit over your head, breeding mosquitoes and eventually causing the whole structure to cave in on you? Just wondering.)

  2. Thanks Glenn, I appreciate your comment very much. I think I've pondered the function of slanted roofs, the part about the caving in, more than the esthetic or spiritual aspect of the design. But you're right, both are happening at the same time. Sometimes those flat-topped big-box stores will cave in with heavy snow. Down here all that water needs to fall off and end up by the sides of roads. we have enough mosquitoes as it is. thanks, sp
