I like this. For one thing, I've always thrilled to overcast skies and stormy weather. The other things I like are the dark boxes of the buildings set off by the bright triangles of the barricades and punctuated by the little yellow caesura of the "yield" sign. Really nice and inventive.
Thanks so much. Thrilling, yes, but the lightning can be scary. Worse even is the fear of "ponding of roadways"... that's a weatherman's euphemism for street-flooding, like the other day when I said we had warmth. But the sky is pretty much always beautiful, whatever is going on. sp
Oh, Sussah, it's beautiful! Scary as they are, I love images like that. Huge energy that needs to be released. (But I hate when it becomes a tragedy, of course).
Hi Claudia, Thanks! At least there's no funnel or lightning-bolt coming down out of that cloud. But there was a creepy old guy on the other side (see the hood up?) and I was a little worried since nobody else was around, and he wanted me to give him a jump-start. I told him no. I go around town all blissed from the beauty, and have to try to keep in mind to be careful in creepy situations. The truth is, my car and I don't really like parking garages. sp
Hi Sussah! We just signed up for DSL again after having really slow dial-up for awhile, so we'll be able to enjoy more picture blogs. Very interesting photos!
Hey, R,E&J, I wondered if you ever saw any of this, and I'm glad to hear from you! welcome to my world, Love, sussah
Great combination of light and darkness, short and long distances, straight lines and box-like shapes of man-made constructions as opposed to the amorphous cloud masses, the blind and powerful natural forces.
Hi Psephis, Thanks for your wonderfully kind comments. Right now we are having similar weather conditions, dark with rolling thunder. That keeps it relatively cooler but I'm glad we got back home before it opens up. I want to look again at that color explosion of yours today. sp
