  3. Hi Molly, But the spot they really crave is right in front, halfway out into the street. Just like in front of our old Zuppardo's Economical, where there is now the world's most wonderful Walgreens-- even after a nice new parking lot was built, people preferred the hanging half-way into the street spots. Good morning bc, thanks, I've never tried anything there except snoballs! sounds like fun. I got too hot yesterday, walking up there, going through the cemetery a while first. I staggered back home where my husband was very intelligently watching baseball on tv, and keeping cool. have a good week, sp

  5. It does look very New Orleansy! Nothing like a good snoball on a hot day! We have drive thru snoball stands and the line is all the way down the street.

  7. Oh, this brings back very fond memories of my sno-balls in New Orleans many years ago. Blue raspberry, peach, and grasshopper flavors were my favorite that hot summer:)--Emily

  8. Dear Emily, thanks, I remember that you were so smart and sophisticated, but were true to your 10-year-old self, showing off your tongue which had turned bright blue from one of those flavors! And we got those gummy penguins that tasted like peach. that summer, grandma bobby was still with us, and it was hard to believe we all tromped around in the French Quarter in that heat. (just like now!!) miss you, love, sussah

note to anonymous ... Emily has a good memory. sp

  9. Oh, yes, I could never forget the gummy penguins. I still always go for the "gummies" when buying candy by the pound and forget how heavy they are. And yes, grasshopper flavor was a delicious chocolate mint concoction...Emily
